Thomas: Dental Implant Patient
Why Dental Implants with Us?
Losing a natural tooth, whether to trauma, disease, or decay, can threaten more than the appearance of your smile. Missing teeth can lead to bone loss, problems with surrounding teeth, and an increased difficulty eating, speaking, and chewing. Dental implants offer a long-term and healthy solution to tooth loss, and can replace natural teeth with nearly the same level of function, feel, and aesthetics! As a board-certified oral surgeon and periodontist team, we have collectively placed thousands of dental implants. Along with our skillset, we utilize the latest technologies and techniques to ensure your implants are placed successfully, so you can enjoy the benefits of a new tooth or complete smile.
The Dental Implant Process
Dental implants very closely mimic every part of the tooth, from the root to the crown. Beginning with the “tooth root,” a dental implant post is surgically placed into the jaw, helping to reestablish the healthy jaw bone stimulation once provided by the natural tooth. Once this post has fully integrated with the jaw bone, it is ready for the visible part of the tooth, the dental crown, to be attached. This dental crown is custom made to look natural, blending with the color of the other teeth, and fit snugly between adjacent teeth. Once the dental implants are fully placed and restored, they will take on nearly all of the function left behind by the missing teeth, are highly aesthetic and durable, and remain permanently in the mouth with proper care.
Dental implants have an average 98 percent success rate
Over 35 million Americans are missing all their teeth in one or both jaws
3 million people have dental implants and that number is growing by 500,000 a year
Improving Outcome Predictability with Guided Surgery
We place every dental implant in our office using guided implant placement to ensure safer, more predictable, and efficient outcomes. With this technology, we can virtually plan and predict the outcome of the surgery before ever beginning treatment on you. This process not only allows us to plan the best course of action, but can give you greater peace of mind that your surgery will be as precise and predictable as possible. Guided implant surgery also provides direction for what angle and depth at which we can place the dental implant to avoid vital parts of the mouth, including sinus cavities, nerves, and blood vessels. Though guided implant surgery provides many benefits to our patients, the greatest benefit is the increased level of safety during the procedure by helping to reduce or eliminate room for human error.
