The mid-face lift or a Cheek Lift is a minimally invasive procedure designed to restore a sagging cheek. The mid-face lift improves the appearance of drooping in the cheek and deep folds around the corners of the nose called the nasolabial folds. A mid-face lift can be performed in conjunction with other procedures or as an isolated procedure alone. The following are the most common questions asked about a surgical mid-face lift procedure.

How is the actual cheek lift procedure performed?

A mid-face lift can be performed by using non-surgical methods such as facial injectable fillers and Botulinum toxin A (Botox®) or surgical techniques.

One surgical method is endoscopic mid-face lift. Dr. Bolourian makes the same incisions made for the endoscopic brow lift. This includes a few small incisions which are placed in a well-concealed location within the hair-bearing scalp. Working through the incisions, Dr. Bolourian then uses minimally invasive techniques to lift the sagging cheek tissue to a more youthful position. An endoscope functions as a viewing device. It consists of a tubular probe fitted with a tiny camera and bright light, which is inserted through a small incision; and a viewing screen to magnify the transmitted images of the mid-face and forehead. The surgeon watches the screen while moving the tube through the surgical area.
